Quick Start

Setup and use Notes in just one minute.

Get started in one minute
  1. Open any project in your IDE

  2. Click the ⭐ Notes Tool Window(if not visible, click menu View | Tool Windows | Notes)

  3. Optional: Enable Project Code Notes by toggling the Project notes switch project_notes_toggle.png

  4. Click the blue link Create database in home directory or Create database in project directory

  5. Open any source code or images, select some text or right-click the editor gutter area

  6. Press keys Alt+M, Alt+Enter or click RMB, click item Add to Code Notes ...

  7. Click Create, then a note will be saved into the ⭐ Notes Tool Window

  8. A icon will appear in the editor gutter, RMB - locate; Drag - move to new line

  9. Click the Settings Open Notes Settings toolbar button in the ⭐ Notes tool window to browse the notes.db database file and attachments storage directory(by default is _notes), you can back up or move these files to any 3rd-party file-based sync services such as iCloud, DropBox and OneDrive. If project notes is enabled, you can submit them to VCS.
